I know, you probably were thinking something different and this is what I posted as the 'bear shadow'... Well, it's one of those things that you have to live here to be able to appreciate! It's not as simple as just going between certain times and dates, you have to factor in the clouds and weather. This just happened to be the perfect day to take a picture... nice cool, crisp day! Another photo op off my bucket list.
The 'bear shadow' is only visible for 30 minutes daily between 5:30 and 6:00 pm from mid October through early November. During this period, the bear-like shadow comes out of hibernation when the sun sets behind Whiteside Mountain.
